The history of today's internationally engaged REMA consortium dates back to 1919, when, in the vicinity of Leipzig - in Borsdorf - "REMA - Richard Müller Elektro Armaturen" was founded. At the end of the 40s, the company moved to Bonn and subsequently traded under the name REMA Lipprandt GmbH & Co. KG. Founded to produce materials such as connection terminals and splices for the progressive electrification of Germany, REMA is a highly specialized major manufacturer today. With more than 300 employees in five locations worldwide, various markets in the field of Electrical Engineering are served. Among the products are connector systems for charging electric vehicles, technologically sophisticated controls such as tiller heads and drawbar steering angle sensors, but also high-current interconnection materials and associated crimping tools.Innovations and know-how
The progress and development of the company has always been influenced by intensive research and development work. In an effort to improve existing technology, but also through the customization of products, the product range has continuously developed and new markets have been successfully entered. Besides the wealth of development expertise, REMA has a proven project management and is able to realize customer demands and new developments quickly and efficiently. The knowledge of the minimum-loss transmission of high currents is also in demand outside the company: REMA works in various – including international - standards committees and is thus actively involved in designing the future. Quality and production
In production, quality, and the safety of products comes first. All areas of production are certified to DIN ISO 9001 and a Quality Management system with clear responsibilities guarantees the continuous monitoring and improvement of production processes. In addition, modern production techniques ensure the highest possible product quality. In the area of contact processing, REMA employs the cold extrusion process for contacts with a cross section of 2.5mm² to 300mm² as well as the production of aluminum and copper interconnection materials up to 1,000 mm². A special innovation is the "Molded REMA Connector" (MRC). In MRC connectors, the cable insulation is almost inextricably connected to the connector housing. This produces a gas and water-tight cable-socket connection. This results in a significantly higher strength and durability, especially in combination with REMAFlex lines, which have a special insulating sheath. The world's largest manufacturers in the field of forklift trucks, power transmission and telecommunications are among REMA's satisfied customers.
